A plane crash has claimed the life of one man and critically injured two others, including Glenn Olson, who played for the San Jose Sharks’ farm team.
The Cessna 172 private airplane crashed Saturday afternoon near Port McNeill en route to the Merritt, according to Port McNeill RCMP. Police are not releasing victims’ names, but Search and Rescue officials told reporters that Olson was one of the men.
The 34-year-old pilot died at the scene, while the passengers, both in their early 20s, were taken to hospital. They were reportedly on their way to the Merritt Mountain Music Festival.
