Officials believe they have located the crash site and recovered human remains from a plane that disappeared off Cape Breton two weeks ago while carrying two Calgary energy executives.
Ronald David Johnston, 57, and Dennis Michael Forgeron, 43, are presumed dead.
Using a side scan sonar and remotely operated vehicle, searchers found a portion of the aircraft’s fuselage in 52 metres of water on Monday about 10 kilometres off of Glace Bay, N.S.
The remains have been taken to a medical examiner’s office for identification.
The Cessna vanished off radar as it was attempting to land in heavy rain and thick fog at Sydney airport on Aug. 5.
