By crashing in a car, of course we mean sleeping in a car, which is what you can do when staying at the V8 Hotel in Stuttgart, Germany.
It all starts in the lobby area of this four-star establishment that opened for business in 2009. The lobby and common areas of this refurbished former airport building features a number of newer and vintage vehicles. The Bauhaus-style hotel’s 34 suites also maintain the automotive theme with plenty of auto-themed photos and memorabilia plus beds that incorporate actual car bodies for the headboards and footboards. Some rooms are even set up to resemble a car wash, gas station, body shop and drive-in cinema.
Rates start in the 125-euro range (about $180) for a room with a single bed. That might not sound like a bargain, but at least parking at the V8 Hotel is free. Go to v8hotel.de/en for information and reservations.
