One Calgary woman is going to think twice when dealing with strangers as she recovers from injuries sustained in a carjacking earlier this month.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, hopes a Crime Stoppers re-enactment yesterday spurs information that leads to the arrest of the man who she said stole her convertible Mercedes Benz and left her with a broken wrist and bruises at Western Pride Car Wash in the 4000 block of Richmond Road SW on May 8.
“I was just drying my car on a Saturday afternoon when he approached me and right away I knew something was up with him,” she said.
The man flashed a knife and after a brief struggle jumped into her vehicle and sped off — but the woman was reaching in to honk the horn and was dragged a short distance.
“I will be more wary of strangers in the future. It was a reaction, though maybe not the right one,” she said.
Const. Ian Arcega said police recovered the vehicle, but are looking for a Caucasian man between 19 and 27 years old, with a slim build and a blond buzz cut.
