Alberta has gone from a vast shortage of nurses to what some are calling a hiring freeze.
“Trying to solve the nursing shortage by putting a hiring freeze on it is just absurd,” said NDP Leader Brian Mason.
According to Dr. Avalon Roberts, the budget for healthcare does indeed need looking at, but cuts shouldn’t come at the front line.
“This reorganization has cost a lot of money, we are not going to know how much for sure. Millions in payouts to people who did nothing to improve the health care system but were given huge severances.”
