TransLink has invited a cycling expert with Rutgers University to speak at several venues in Vancouver starting today.
Dr. John Pucher will give a free lecture Thursday at
7 p.m. at Simon Fraser University’s Segal Graduate School of Business on his research into travel behaviour.
He has focused on what gets people out of their cars and onto bikes in Europe, the United States and Canada over the last 30 years.
Pucher’s findings show that Canadians cycle three times the amount of Americans, but that the Danish ride circles around Canadians at a rate of 20 to 1.
