Dacey, MacKenzie unbeaten at Scotia Cup

Mark Dacey won an all-Mayflower matchup with Shawn Adams in a battle of unbeaten teams at the Nova Scotia men’s curling championship in Chester on Thursday night.

Dacey earned an 9-8 win in the 11th end and is tied with fellow Mayflower skip Doug MacKenzie as the only unbeaten teams at the Molson Scotia Cup with perfect 3-0 records.

Dacey is a four-time provincial champ (2001, 2003, 2004 and 2006) and Adams is a three-time winner (2000, 2002 and 2005).

Adams dropped to 2-1 and is tied with Peter Burgess, Ian Fitzner-Leblanc, Glen MacLeod, Ken Myers and Chad Stevens.

Defending champion Brian Rafuse of Bridgewater has a 1-2 record and sits tied with 2007 winner Mark Kehoe.

Action resumes Friday at 10 a.m. and continues through the weekend with the final on Sunday at 3 p.m.
