He’s a ballet dancer and an actor, but this weekend, spectators aren’t there to admire his pirouettes or his monologues — they’ll just want to hear him roar.
Chad Colton might be donning the dino suit, but the real star at the Walking with Dinosaurs show at Scotiabank Place is his alter ego, a baby T-Rex.
“When I was a little kid, I loved dinosaurs,” said Colton, 29, who watches nature documentaries to get a sense of how animals move and uses his dance training to recreate the movements.
The 17 life-sized dinosaurs — each of which takes three people to operate — “are built to fossil evidence spec, which means this is as real as they get,” said a spokeswoman Nellie Beavers.
