Jittery contestants — many of whom kept warm by dancing on the sidewalk — starting lining up as early as 4:30 a.m. in Vancouver to audition for the second season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

Hopefuls came from as far away as Alberta to try out for the popular reality talent show at the Centre in Vancouver For Performing Arts on Saturday.

Many competitors had returned for a second year after being cut during auditions last time, while others were out for their first time.

The audition tour will be in Edmonton tomorrow before heading east to St. John, N.B., and Toronto, ending in Montreal on May 26.

At the end of the tour, judges will whittle down the successful candidates through a series of intense choreography sessions until the top 20 finalists are chosen in Toronto.
