Police officers had their hands full in Dartmouth around lunchtime Monday, responding to a disturbance at about 11 a.m. and chasing down a couple of suspects for violating court-imposed conditions at 12:30 p.m.
Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said officers were first called to a dispute inside a 31 Highfield Park Drive apartment, where they found two women had been sprayed with a noxious substance.
A police report released later said one of them had used a baseball bat to break a window. Police charged an 18-year-old woman with weapon possession and property damage and two 19-year-old men for possession of and assault with a weapon.
Later, police officers spotted two men breaching conditions on Demetreous Lane, but they took off before being arrested. Palmeter said they chased one suspect into a nearby residence, where they were confronted by residents and had to call for back-up.
Police ended up tracking down and charging both men, with one facing an additional count of assaulting a police officer.
