A daycare was smoked out by fire at a local school yesterday morning.
Fire alarms rang at a daycare inside Annunciation Elementary School at 9325 – 165 Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The daycare inside the school sustained $250,000 damage.
“The entire community will feel this loss, but the important thing is no one got hurt,” said Edmonton Catholic Schools spokeswoman Lori Nagy.
The cause is still under investigation, but is believed to have been electrical.
If the school won’t be ready for students by Sept.2, all parents will be contacted.
