The mother of a newborn baby boy found dead in a plastic bag in a quiet East Vancouver neighbourhood has contacted police.
Const. Jana McGuinness said yesterday she can’t release any details about the mother or how the baby died.
“She is getting the care she needs,” McGuinness said. “This is a sensitive investigation. It’s ongoing and moving forward.”
The results of an autopsy haven’t been released, but police say the death is being treated as suspicious.
The baby, who was stuffed in a plastic bag, was found by a resident of the 2500 block of Charles Street Thursday morning.”
