Few industries have escaped the global economic downturn unscathed, and the tourism industry is no exception.
So tour operators and travel agents have been offering some unprecedented bargains to weather the economic storm. Among those are cruise line promotions include two for one deals, free airfare, as well as spa and restaurant credits.
“Packages to Mexico are about as cheap as it gets as operators try to boost business there, while higher end resorts like Sandals are offering 60 per cent off to St. Lucia and places through the Caribbean,” said Debbie Hughes of Marlin Travel.
“There are definitely some good deals.”
