Peter Delmas turned in a solid game in goal and two rookies provided the offence as the Halifax Mooseheads picked up a QMJHL exhibition victory in Saint John, N.B., last night.
The 20-year-old Delmas, who is being showcased for a trade, turned aside 36 shots in the 2-1 triumph over the host Saint John Sea Dogs. It’s the Mooseheads’ second win in five games.
Alex Souligny and Francis Turbide, 17-year-old rookies out of the Quebec midget AAA ranks, found the net in the win, with Turbide’s tally at 7:09 of the second period standing as the game-winner. The Mooseheads are back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Forum against the P.E.I. Rocket.
