Gabriel Desjardins will play for the Canadian under-18 men’s hockey team in April according to the Halifax Mooseheads head coach and general manager Cam Russell.

Although the roster isn’t expected to be released by Hockey Canada until later this week, Russell said yesterday Desjardins has been informed he will wear the Maple Leaf at the IIHF world under-18 championship in Minsk and Bobruisk, Belarus, starting April 13.

The 17-year-old winger had 15 points in his final 16 games to finish fourth in scoring on the Mooseheads with 32 points in 62 games.
