Clayton Park is one of the fastest growing areas in the Halifax Regional Municipality. While it has long been a mainly residential area, the increasing population has led to further development. The $40.5 million Canada Games Centre on Lacewood Drive will be a centrepiece for the winter 2011 games and then turn into one of the city’s top recreational facilities. Featuring four pools (competition, leisure, hydrotherapy and one for small children) as well as a field house, track, cafe and a health and wellness centre, it will be open to the general public from spring 2011.
