Kerry Diotte was flushed with excitement as he celebrated his victory in the Ward 11 elections last night with volunteers, family and friends at Von’s Steakhouse and Bar.
The first-time councillor was elated over the results. He said he felt confident his experience as a journalist would aid him in his new position.
“I’ve been a journalist in Edmonton for over 25 years, I’ve covered city council and it’s been a lot of fun. I just think you’re using some of the same tools,” said Diotte.
“You’re researching, you’re going through budgets, and you’re helping people with their issues as a columnist. (It’s) the same thing as a councillor.”
