DJ vets vinyl for a good cause

Spinning records is her passion in life and helping out kids while doing it makes it even more special.

Popular local DJ Mollyfi started the Girls on Decks theme (g.o.d) six years ago and told Metro she hasn’t been able to do a fundraiser show yet, but she’s dusting off her favourite records and dancing shoes for this one.

“This will be the first time it’s like a charity event but I’m really excited to be a part of it and it’s nice to be able to give something back to the community,” the 28-year-old said.

The g.o.d event is actually part of music venue Soda’s 5th anniversary, and the club is known for giving back to the community.

“They are donating the majority of the proceeds to the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta so it’s going to be a really fun night of dancing for a really good cause,” she added.

The fundraiser begins tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Soda Lounge at 211 12 Ave SW. Ticket proceeds and donations will go towards the charity.
