While many industries took a hit during the recession, home renovations are still going strong, according to a Home Expo 2010 official.

Running Friday until Sunday, the Home Expo 2010 is the first home show of the year and spokesperson Rick Young expects up to 25,000 visitors for the popular home renovations show.

“Home renovations is something people are still interested in and spending money in, and we’re the first show of the year. We definitely have something for everyone,” Young said.

Young says homeowners and contractors will enjoy the show alike, and there are many new tiles, cabinets, flooring, wall colours and much more to choose from.

“I think after the long winter people have been thinking about the things they need and are anxious to get out and check out what’s new.”

Leigh Anne said she is excited to check out the show because it’s the first home show she is attending after starting her own home décor business.

“I want to learn as much as I can and checking out a show like this will let me see a lot of different things in one place,” she said.
