Police are searching for the owner of a dog that was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
Residents of Kitscoty, Alta., west of Lloydminister, called police around 9 p.m. Saturday to report seeing the dog bleeding and wandering around town.
The animal was rushed to a nearby veterinary clinic where it is recovering from its injuries.
Const. Mike Bowers of the Kitscoty RCMP says the male dog is around four years old and appears to be a retriever or lab cross with short golden-coloured fur. He says the animal has no identifying marks, but it was found wearing a “choke-style” collar.
Anyone with information about the possible owner is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
