People in Halifax may notice their water colour looks a little different over the next two weeks as maintenance begins Tuesday on the Pockwock water supply system.

The work involves the temporary re-routing of water flows from the Pockwock main site, which is the primary water supply for Peninsular Halifax.

Halifax Regional Municipality said in a release the discolouration of the water would not affect people's health.

Testing on water conditions will be done throughout the construction process to ensure safe drinking levels.
