Mount Royal University is looking to give back to the community it has been a part of for 100 years.
Starting today, individuals can stop by the school’s recreation entrance and drop off a donation to support one of 10 non-profit organizations.
“We did want to find a wide range of groups that people would want to get involved with and support,” explained university spokesperson Steven Noble.
The staff at Mount Royal has already gotten behind the cause, as public relations outreach co-ordinator Elizabeth Lennox has convinced co-workers to donate in place of their normal faculty gift exchange.
“It’s so hard to come up with ideas, so we thought ‘Well let’s do the charity thing instead,’” she said.
