Donations pour in for guide dog dragged by SkyTrain

Nearly a hundred people have shelled out thousands of dollars to help pay for the recovery of a local guide dog.

The dog, Palm, was nearly killed last week after being dragged along the platform at a Burnaby station by a SkyTrain.

“It’s nice to see people being so generous,” said Sharon Brown, administrator of the veterinary hospital taking care of Palm. “It restores your faith in humanity.”

So far most of the donations have been under $100, but there have been some as high as $250. Donations have even come in from Ontario.

Palm’s medical expenses are expected to cost around $15,000. So far, $6,900 has been donated.
