Stampede wouldn’t be Stampede without a hefty, cowgirl, helping of deliciously fattening mini doughnuts.

They are my favourite food group, and each year around the end of June when I can see Stampede on the horizon I get cravings and longings for the tiny little hoops of sugary goodness.

They’re best when they’re straight out of the oil, into the sugar, and onto the tongue.

Try not to think of these doughy delights as artery-clogging appetizers and instead think of them as a once-a-year treat for the tongue and senses.
