Driver flees scene of accident on foot

Debris flew through the air and smashed into a house after two cars collided on Leiblin Drive Saturday.

Halifax police say the collision happened at about 6:20 a.m. on Leiblin Drive at Birchfield Crescent when an eastbound car was struck from behind.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the damage ran off, but was later arrested.

The collision was bad enough, police note, to cause a piece of debris to smash the window of a Birchfield Crescent home.

A 26-year-old man will appear in court to answer to charges of impaired driving, leaving the scene, breach of conditions and driving while revoked.

The driver of the car that was hit received minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.
