Drummondville scores first President’s Cup

The Drummondville Voltigeurs won the first QMJHL President’s Cup in franchise history last night, defeating the Shawinigan Cataractes 3-2 in the deciding Game 7 on home ice at Marcel Dionne Centre.

Playoff MVP Yannick Riendeau had two goals and an assist to finish with a league-best 52 points in 19 games.

Drummondville advances to the Memorial Cup starting May 15 in Rimouski, Que.
