Dry-weather wildfires approach North Van

Wildfires, fuelled by hot, dry weather, have been breaking out across the province lately, and one of them came close to home.

A brush fire was spotted near Northlands Golf Course in North Vancouver Sunday night, and firefighters spent yesterday extinguishing hotspots. Jim Bonneville, assistant fire chief with the District of North Vancouver, said it’s not clear how it started.
