A 37-year-old man was taken to Vancouver hospital with serious injuries after nearly being crushed in the back of a compacting garbage truck.
Const. Jana McGuinness said the man was inside a dumpster early Thursday morning when the bin was emptied into a garbage truck.
“A woman living (on) Cardero Street heard a man’s voice crying for help from the back of a passing garbage truck,” McGuinness said.
“She ran into the lane and stopped the driver who quickly called 9-1-1 and began unloading the compacted garbage to free the man.”
