This “40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition,” costs $80 list for the preferred Blu-ray box, more than three times the $24 tab to actually attend all three days of the Woodstock Festival in 1969.
But it’s a small price to pay for such artfully reconjured grooviness: a digitally upgraded director’s cut (nearly four hours long), plus hours of documentary extras and amusing geekabilia: an iron-on Woodstock patch, a shimmering paper weight and reproductions of the admission ticket (you just crashed the gates, right?) plus handwritten love notes (no email or Twitter in ’69, kids).
