As a child, Ben Eager would play pickup hockey on the community skating rink in Brantwood Park and dream of winning the Stanley Cup.

Even when he made it to the NHL, Eager would still try to skate on that rink when he was back in Ottawa.

Last month, as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, Eager won the Stanley Cup, so on his day with the trophy, he brought it back to his childhood rink to celebrate with friends, family and around 400 fans.

Eager’s mother, Rosemary Graves, said the crowd exceeded all their expectations.
