The Gardiner Expressway reopened in both directions yesterday morning, despite a closure scheduled until early today, though residents can expect delays elsewhere with closed roads and work on the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line.

The expressway was closed at 2 a.m. Saturday between Carlaw Avenue and the Humber River westbound, and eastbound between the Humber River and Spadina Avenue.

The closure was supposed to be in effect until 5:00 a.m. this morning, but reopened yesterday morning, 24 hours earlier than expected.

The work was part of the ongoing bridge reconstruction project at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Jameson Avenue.
