A young Canmore woman is dead after she was struck from behind by a train while listening to music and walking along the tracks, police believe.
Meagan Baillie, 21, was walking westbound on the tracks behind the Fas Gas station in Canmore around 9 a.m. when the accident happened. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe that she was wearing earphones at the time and didn’t hear the train coming. Police are investigating to determine what happened in the moments leading up to her death.
