Easter Sunday in the United States will fall on April 16 in 2017.

Unlike Christmas, Easter and Good Friday are “moveable feasts” in that they do not have a fixed date. Easter Sunday falls on the Sunday that follows the first full moon after March 22(Spring Equinox). There is a 35 day span where Easter can take place (March 22 – April 25), so Easter 2017 is relatively late.

Last year, Easter came on March 27 and in 2018, Easter will fall on April 1.

In Christianity, Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
