Eco-friendly deals bloom

Bootines by JLo are available at Town Shoes.

grassroots sale

Score up to 70 per cent off regular prices on a medley of hip enviro-friendly products.

Eco-hub Grassroots now offers a lot more than the granola-chic of yore. For example, check out the super-cute mitts and arm-warmers by local designer Susan Harris ($25-$40) — all made using recycled sweaters and T-shirts. There’s also plenty of home décor items, delicious organic soaps from Simply By Amanda, plus eco-sensitive linens, paper goods and inspiring books — ideal if one of your new year’s resolutions is to be greener in your everyday choice. FF’s top pick: Ecoholic by Adria Vasil. Shop online or preview products at www.grassrootsstore.com.

on at overkill

At Overkill’s Warehouse Sale, expect to find all kinds of sporty-cool casual wear from labels like Quicksilver, Hurley, Reef and Roxy — all slashed to move. Plenty of T-shirts going for $5 to $10 a piece, plus hoodies for $20 and half off summer merchandise (great for those heading off on a beach vacation).

Where: 2124 Queen St. E. at Lee Avenue (in the Beaches), 416-691-4165.

shoe joy

Footwear fanatics will happily score 25 per cent off any first pair of shoes or boots, plus an additional 40 per cent off the second (of same or lesser value) at Town Shoes — definitely worth buying in bulk or shopping with a fellow shoe tart or metrosexual.

Plenty of deals to be had on temptingly vampy bootines by JLo, Steve Madden boots, heels by BCBG Girls and more, although stock is vanishing — scamper there soon. Preview styles at www.townshoes.ca.

deals at zellers

The top score at Zellers: men’s and women’s loungewear (robes, pyjamas and select undies) are now priced to move at 40 to 70 per cent off regular prices.

Stock up for yourself or anyone with a winter birthday coming up.

Plenty of separates are also reduced from the lines Midtown, James & Jules and Gloria Vanderbilt — marked down up to 60 per cent. And do peruse the kids’ section for deals on winter accessories (gloves, hats, scarves) as well as boots — now all tagged at 30 to 70 per cent off.

urban outfitters

Boxing Day was lunatic at Urban Outfitters, a consistent source for funky wearables and retro-cool housewares, but many deals remain.

Check out the shoes, tops and dresses in the sale section (starting at $9.99).

FF spotted a few unclaimed boxes of men’s Adidas sneakers for a mere $20. And kooky holiday cards, decorations and Christmas-themed giftware is now 75 per cent off.

Don’t leave without a comb through the discounted bedding, piggy banks, lamps and jewelry boxes.
