EDMONTON – Henrik Samuelsson scored two goals as the Edmonton Oil Kings defeated the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 6-2 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Michael St. Croix and Kristians Pelss had a goal and an assist each for the Oil Kings (33-11-6) while Curtis Lazar and Rhett Rachinski had single goals.
Brenden Walker and Michael Ferland scored a goal and an assist each for the Wheat Kings (24-24-3).
Laurent Brossoit made 25 saves for the win as Curtis Honey allowed five goals on 29 shots before being pulled after two periods.
Corbin Boes came in for the third and stopped 14 of 15 shots in relief.
Edmonton was 1 for 1 on the power play while Brandon went 1 for 4
