Kelly Ellard’s request for bail has been adjourned.
The B.C. Court of Appeal ruled on Thursday that until the Supreme Court of Canada rules on an appeal in her case, Ellard must remain in jail.
Ellard took part in the beating and drowning of Reena Virk in Victoria 12 years ago.
The Supreme Court is set to hear the appeal on April 20. It typically takes four months to make decisions.
Ellard was convicted in 2000, but that decision was overturned on appeal. In 2004, her second trial ended in a hung jury and she was eventually convicted in 2005 and sentenced to life in prison.
