How you send packages to your loved ones is just as important as what you send them, according to Canada Post.
“Starting early will save money and take some of the stress out of the frenzied holiday season,” says Marc Smith, director of product management for Canada Post. “But no matter when you’re ready to send your gifts and cards, Canada Post has a service that will get them there by Dece. 24.”
Regular parcel services are the most economical way to ensure holiday packages arrive before Santa. Here are the mailing deadlines:
• Dec. 1: To the U.S.
• Dec. 11: Within Canada

If it’s taken you a little longer to find that special gift, then Xpresspost is the service for you. The mailing deadlines are:
• Dec. 7: Worldwide (but Dec. 1 for Africa and Central/South America)
• Dec. 14: To the U.S.
• Dec. 22: Within Canada
At the last minute
In Canada, the fastest service is Priority Next A.M.. For destinations abroad, use Priority Worldwide.
