While there was a sun and salsa event going on in Kensington, a different kind of salsa was going on at Olympic Plaza.

The sun beat down, but at the annual Fiestaval, there was already plenty of heat, Latin-style.

Clichés aside, thousands packed a busy Olympic plaza to take in Latin music, dancers and fare, along with a dose of Calgary’s long-lost summer.

Calgarians young and old were able to take in the family-oriented events and were immersed in the multicultural event.

The three-day event was free for all who attended.
