Retired judge John W. Morden will oversee an independent probe into controversial G20 police tactics.

Morden has almost 50 years of experience as a lawyer and judge in Ontario. His work has touched on everything from civil rights commissions to former mayor Mel Lastman’s paternity lawsuit.

Among other questions left in the wake of the G20 summit, during which 1,105 people were arrested, the inquiry will investigate, the police role in detaining more than 250 people at Queen Street and Spadina Avenue.
