Family Day at stampede

Thousands of families attended Calgary Stampede for family day yesterday, with some making it a new tradition.

Nancy Qiu and her husband brought their four-month-old daughter Victoria to the Stampede for family day for her very first time — and they even brought “grandma” Peiwen Feng all the way from China, too.

“Oh she loves it. She really enjoyed the parade actually; it’s really cute to watch.

“She’s young but she is having fun and we plan to come every year,” Qui said.

Other larger families enjoyed the free admission early in the morning while saving lots of money, including the Benson family.

“I think we saved about 60 dollars by coming in early.

“The kids are young so … I think they will get tired out by dinner time but it’s a lot of fun. And even better when it’s free to get in,” Ang Benson said.
