City cops are still trying to piece together the events leading up to a fatal crash that left a family of five dead earlier this month, and are asking for help from the public.

Staff Sgt. Brett Marklund told Metro police are particularly interested in the two- hour time frame between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. when the driver of the cement truck left his work site in Nanton and when the accident occurred at Macleod Trail and 194th Ave SW on Dec. 7.

“What we’re looking for are witnesses who may be able to provide us with any information on the events leading up to the accident,” he said, adding there are numerous witnesses to the actual accident.

Daniel Tschetter, 50, of Cochrane was charged with five counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and one count of refusing to provide a breath sample. He appeared in court yesterday.

Anyone with information about the cement truck driving in Nanton, High River or Okotoks on the night of Dec. 7 is asked to call police at 567-4000.
