News of Friday night’s alleged home invasion-turned-homicide was still the topic of discussion for the residents of a tiny, quiet street in Gatineau Sunday.
Even though everybody in the immediate neighbourhood knew about the terrible event, only a few openly chatted about it.
“I spoke with a female resident from that house on one occasion but never saw anyone else,” said neighbour Marie-Paul Desrosiers.
“This whole situation is very unfortunate and a bit scary.”
Late Friday evening, a male intruder attempted to break into a house at 17 Rue. Ste-Helene in the Hull sector of the city and was believed to have been stabbed by a 21-year old male resident.
A 22-year-old man ended up bleeding to death en route to an Ottawa hospital. Ottawa and Gatineau police have arrested five people in connection with the incident.
