Father who placed ad for baby in new trouble

Roughly three weeks after allegedly listing his week-old baby for sale on craigslist.com, Jeremy Frederick Pete is apparently in trouble again.

Last Monday, Coquitlam RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) noticed a suspicious vehicle near Lougheed Highway. A man was seen moving two flat-screen televisions into a car around a motel parking lot. CRU members stopped the man’s vehicle before it left and found a stolen credit card.

Pete is charged with a count of forgery, possession of a stolen credit card and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Pete garnered national attention last month after his seven-day-old daughter was listed for sale on craigslist.com.

“A new baby girl, 7 days old, healthy and very cute,” the ad read.

The baby’s mother and Pete have said the listing and the $10,000 price tag was a joke. Both parents are known to police and were arrested. No charges were laid.
