SALT LAKE CITY - Prosecutors charged a FedEx driver with threat of terrorism over allegations he joked that a package he was delivering to a U.S. Army base was likely a bomb. Military police evacuated 215 people from the area.
Charges filed Wednesday in Utah show the deliveryman was dropping off a package Sept. 20 at Camp Williams.
Prosecutors say that when a woman asked what it was, he replied it was probably a bomb.
The Deseret News identified the driver as 27-year-old Kevin Coleman.
Police say the man later told them his comment was a mistake.
He's charged with a third-degree felony count of threat of terrorism.
