The federal government is now accepting applications for the new Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship Program from top researchers in Canada and around the world.
The prestigious program is another action in support of Canada’s Science and Technology strategy with the purpose of strengthening Canada’s position in science, technology, and research and development.
“Part of that process was to identify where there were areas we could make improvements and this is one of those areas, in the postdoctoral area,” said Mike Lake, MP for Edmonton-Mill Woods-Beaumont.
“Young people, some of them have families and it’s really important to create an environment where they can continue to focus on their research … Whatever it is they love to do and has tremendous value for all Canadians.”
“We encourage all graduate researchers and institutions to look into this program, they have a role to play in ensuring Canada remains an international leader in science and technology,” said Lake.
