Fells case to be reopened

Nova Scotia’s Public Prosecution Board will re-hash the matter of Ken Fells after learning the Crown may not have viewed all of the evidence.

A video of the skirmish between the former principal of Graham Creighton Junior High School, who was removed from his position in May, and a 14-year-old student was released by Frank magazine in early July.

During the initial investigation, police asked a Crown attorney for advice on how to proceed. No charges were laid.

But Chris Hansen, a prosecution spokeswoman, could not confirm nor deny that the Crown saw the video of the confrontation.

She said the Crown attorney involved in this case is on vacation until the end of the month.

“We have given it to another Crown attorney to view all the police materials and all the evidence that’s gathered including the video,” she said yesterday.
