FHNB show aims to promote local fashion

Glamour is in the air as Fashion Has No Borders (FHNB) & Accessory Expose comes to Calgary for the first time.

The event, sponsored by Metro Calgary, will offer a unique opportunity to discover and purchase the hottest in fashion, health and beauty products.

Sharon Cornwall, founder of FHNB said the expose can turn into a profitable commercial venture by connecting industry professionals to their city.

“We definitely want Calgary to become a fashion destination since there’s many fashionistas, boutique designers, and lots of wonderful treasures right here in the city,” said Cornwall.

More than 275 fashion, hair and beauty companies along with fashion and beauty schools will exhibit.

Local fashionista Suzie Hein will be showcasing her very own jewellery line called Suzie Q Beads. She will also exhibit two runway shows.

“This is very exciting because I feel that Calgary and their designers have a lot to offer,” said Hein.

Hein will be launching her two new collections called Amazon Queen and Moon River.

“People don’t realize they don’t need to go dashing off to Toronto, New York or even Europe, when we have immense talent here.”

The expose will be presented in a boutique setting at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park this Saturday from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Tickets will be $9 for adults and $5 for students with ID. More information can be found at www.fashionhasnoborders.com.
