Residents of an apartment building in Truro had to find temporary residence after a fire erupted in their building on the weekend.

At about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, a fire broke out in the kitchen one of the apartments at 47 Braemer Court.

About 35 firefighters from Truro Fire Service and Cobequid District Fire Brigade quickly extinguished the blaze. “There were no injuries and it’s under investigation (but) it was not a malicious act,” Truro deputy fire chief Dave Westlake said.
