VANCOUVER - A B.C. First Nations leader who is also an expert on aquaculture hopes to crash a Vancouver meeting with federal Fisheries Minister Gail Shea.

Chief Bob Chamberlin says he will ask to be admitted to the gathering but was told just minutes before it was due to begin that he would not be given a seat at the table.

Chamberlin says other First Nations representatives have been invited but he wonders how the Department of Fisheries can hold adequate discussions if all the information isn't available.

He says fisheries officials have told him aquaculture will certainly be part of the agenda concerning Fraser River salmon stocks.

Chamberlin chairs the aquaculture working group of the First Nations Leadership Council.

He says he may have important information on the impact of aquaculture on this year's collapse of Fraser River sockeye salmon returns.
