At least five of the 11 people injured in the fatal hot-air balloon accident Friday in Surrey have been released from hospital and the company’s insurance will likely compensate victims.
John Kageorge a spokesman for Fantasy Balloon Tours said it was his understanding that another person was due to be released later yesterday, leaving five people in hospital, CBC News Online reports.
Kageorge also suggested that the company’s insurance would assist. He said it is “fully licensed and insured” with Lloyd’s of London.
The balloon’s pilot, Stephen Pennock, is said to be emotionally devastated and in no condition to speak to the media.
